How does traffic Mail work?
You decide which offenses fit your
practice and choose the counties. Premium traffic Mail 2.0
provides you with case details for records that were entered
in the NC court system the previous business day. You choose
the counties and offense codes you wish to receive data from,
then logon to our web site in the morning to pick up your cases.
Mail merge this file with your favorite word processor and
you have personalized letters to send to the people that need your services now!
The Administrative Office of the Courts
(AOC) composes a list of all active and new court cases every
business day. Our computer system retrieves this data and processes
it, selecting out records you have subscribed to by county
and offense code. Your selections are put into an output file
that you can pick up on our web site from any computer with
Internet access, usually by 8 AM each business day. Merge this
file with your word processor and you have an instant Direct
Mail campaign, targeted to a proven audience.

What offenses may I choose?
The state of NC lists over 1200 offense
codes. You may choose as many or as few as you wish, in any of
the 100 NC counties. Some firms send different letters to certain
groups, such as one letter to speeding offenses, another letter
to drug offenses, etc. We provide separate files for this. You
decide which format fits your practice the best. Our professional
sales staff will gladly assist you in choosing offense codes.

What do you mean by "Flat Rate Pricing for CR & CRS?"
AOC
splits their cases into two groups: Infraction (IF & IFS)
and Criminal (CR & CRS) records. Our system enables us to
sell you all the CR & CRS records for a county for one low
price (see List**) where other companies charge per record. For
example, Flat Rate for Forsyth County is $185 per month. If you
send out an average of 250 letters per week, you are saving $115
per month! Some of our clients actually save thousands of dollars
a month with Flat Rate!
How do Postnet barcodes help me?
This will enable you to reduce mailing costs by obtaining bulk mailing discounts from the post office.
We now include Postnet barcodes in ALL output files for all addresses.
Minor adjustments to your mail merge process enable the printing of the Postnet barcode on every envelope.
If your company does not wish to utilize the Postnet barcode, there should be no changes necessary to run
your mail merge as you would normally.
What are Hispanic name filters or "advanced
filters?"
If you want to target a Hispanic audience for a file, we will
filter out all other races and you can provide a personalized
letter in Spanish.
trial date is another useful filter. Some cases are not entered
into the system until the day before the trial date, while other
records reappear when case details change. Some firms do not
wish to mail letters that will arrive after the trial date.
It is also possible to filter out certain zip codes and states.
What is Address Correction?
Data supplied by AOC is subject to
human error when entered, resulting in a certain amount of undeliverable
addresses. traffic Mail 2.0 uses USPS Certified Address Correction
software to check all addresses. If it is not deliverable, you
don't get it. Save time, postage, materials and money!
What kind of response can I expect?
Our business is supplying
the data, not applying it, but we can give you some pointers
we have picked up. You can increase your conversion rate by including
the access codes we supply on your letters. The prospective customer
can go to our web site and view a FREE abstract of their charge,
with YOUR company name, web site and phone number prominently
displayed.
>> see example
What is a "free abstract record"?
Each name that we
send you has a Case ID associated with it. You should include
this Case ID along with your unique referral code on the letters
you mail to prospective clients, with an explanation of how to
use it. The client can browse to out retail web site, www.abcNC.com,
put in these codes and view a free abstract (partial view of
disposition) of their case. Your company name, phone number and
web site are prominently displayed above the free data.
Is traffic Mail available 7 days a week?
traffic Mail is available every morning
Monday through Saturday, and cases entered over the weekend
will be posted Monday morning. No traffic
Mail on business days following published AOC holidays. For
example, if AOC is closed for Memorial Day on Monday, there
will be no data entered by clerks on Monday, so there will
be no traffic Mail on Tueday, even though businesses are open.
>>

Are there rules governing these types of mailings?
There are guidelines listed at www.ncbar.com
that you should be familiar with. The section in "Rules of Professional
Conduct" has areas concerning advertising & communication
of services. Be sure to include "This is an advertisement
for legal services" on the outside envelope and at the beginning
of your letter "in print at least as large as your name
or the firm's name". It would also be advisable to keep
a copy of your letter template on file.
Are you guys traffic lawyers?
No, we are in the data processing business. We will never compete
against you in the courtroom like some other data providers
